I provide individualized training on desktop applications at a very reasonable price. I will come to your home so you will be learning your programs on your computer. Whether you need help learning how to use e-mail, surf the web, type letters or make greeting cards I can help. Or maybe you're a more advanced user who knows the basics and wants to learn about the additional features that some of your programs offer. I can help you with these also.

The majority of my experience is in Microsoft products, but I am familiar with many other applications too. Even if I don't know the particular program you need help with, I find that with my experience and background I pick up on new programs very quickly. If you do come up with a program that I don't know, I will offer you a substantial discount on training in order to have the opportunity to learn a new program.

Small Businesses

Small businesses face a special type of dilemma when it comes to using technology. You may be a one-man show or you may even have a few employees, but unlike medium and large businesses you don't have a computer staff. Therefore, if you want to implement a new program you don't have a staff right there to do the installation, set-up, testing and training on it. If you want it implemented, you probably have to do it all of it yourself. Then it comes down to the question of whether the cost of the learning curve will be worth the effort. In the long run will the program save you time or increase your profitability? If so, how much? Hopefully before you invest in any new technology you have answered those questions.

Here are some of the things that I may be able to help you with if you are considering buying a new piece of software:

• Installing and doing the setup of the new software. Depending on the type of software you are using, there are probably going to be many things that you will have to do to make it useable for your particular business.
  
  
• If you are converting from a different program, I can help you get all of your old data from the old program into the new program.
  
  
• I can train you and/or your employees on how to use the new program.

If you are a very small business, your technology needs might not be quite so involved. You may already have programs on your computer that would be sufficient for some of the business tasks you want to perform on it. For you, it's just a matter of getting these things set up. For example, you may just need a very basic database set up to keep track of customers. Or possibly you want some spreadsheets set up for keeping track of income and expenses. These are some basic needs of even the smallest of businesses, but if you don't have the time or knowledge to initially get them set up, you won't be able to use the computer to help you keep better records and save you time. This is something that I can set up for you while you concentrate on what's important to you, running your business.
